Dilly Beans & Jellypark

Holy rain!  We moved here in May and I was amazed that we went alllllll Summer and most of the Fall without any rain at all.  No need to mow the grass - the grass was dead, there was nothing to mow.  LOL  Well - we kept hearing that the rains come in Winter and I guess Mother Nature thinks it's Winter already!  It's been raining for days - we have flash flood warnings and all that, but the best part is that everything is GREEN!  So green, it's practically blinding when the sun comes out.  Makes you really appreciate the rain.

Today we have a new challenge for you at:

I used my all-time fave character from Dilly Beans, Adriana's Mask, and turned her into a Christmas bandit (right, Megan?  hee hee).  I popped up her Santa hat (from Digi Darla) and the circle sentiment (Just Wordz clear stamps) with foam dimensional dots.

Next up - we also have a new challenge for you at:

I used Wish on a Star, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and lots of Dazzlings Diamonds glitter.  Paper is a digi paper from Marisa Lerin (I printed the "twinkle twinkle little" directly on it).  Button, ribbon, pearl stickers, star brads, and alphabet letter stickers are all from my stash.

And last but not least - Jellypark has an adorable new release today, too:

And here's my card:

This DP is from My Mind's Eye, I LOVE the bright primary colors.  I added some buttons, star brads, and a ribbon tag.  Head on over to see what the rest of the team came up with and to play along with our fun Friday challenges!  Have a great weekend, everyone.  Peace.

The Octopode Factory: Words

Good morning!  I almost always write my blog posts the night before, but last night I got lazy!  Cass and I put up our tree and decorated the house a bit for the holidays, and we baked some chocolate cookies with peppermint frosting - yum.  I caught up on laundry, did some light cleaning, and cooked a delicious dinner of chicken breasts browned in olive oil and then cooked with sun dried tomatoes, lemon juice, and feta cheese.  We had that with penne and it was absolutely delicious.  I used my Pampered Chef Greek Rub to season the chicken, everything came together perfectly and everyone enjoyed it.  Bonus!  Waking up to a clean house with the Christmas tree sparkling was really nice this morning, also.  :)

Today's card is for:

The Octopode Factory: Words

I used Angel Girl, printed directly onto some text DP and colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and lots of glitter.  I printed the text out in my word processing program, and punched it out with a circle punch.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, charm and pearl stickers are from my stash. Peace.

Dilly Beans: Anything Goes

Hello friends!  I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  Did you do any Black Friday shopping?  I'm typing this on Thursday night, and Cass and I are planning on heading out around 6:00 a.m. for a little shopping.  We're not looking for any crazy electronics or anything, just heading to Kohl's and the mall, Bath & Body Works & Victoria's Secret, and wherever Cass wants to go.  We're looking for luggage, so I'm thinking Kohl's or Macy's.  We shall see.  I hope you got some good bargains if you headed out!

So we have a new challenge for you today at:

I made this card with lots of mediums including acrylic paints, alcohol inks, colored pencils & mineral spirits, watercolors, and glitter.  I used the Mermaid Framed image, popped up with foam dots.

Here are a few more Dilly Beans cards I made playing with Ruby Ragdoll:

Head on over to see more Dilly Beans deliciousness and to play along with us.  Peace.

Happy Thanksgiving & All That Scraps: Anything Goes

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!  No matter where you live, I hope you have a wonderful day today.  For my American friends, I hope you are enjoying food, friends, family, football... and spending time reflecting on all of the things you have to be grateful for.  We made pumpkin fudge (yum) and a broccoli/cauliflower bake and we're heading over to Jeremy's mom's house.  Our first Thanksgiving with her and her family, it's a fun group of people including a few friends who don't have any family - yet another reminder to be thankful.  I'm thankful for so very much, including the fact that I was just able to purchase plane tickets for Cass and I to go back East for a visit on Christmas.  We'll be staying for 2 weeks, I'm so excited.  I cannot wait to see my family and friends - I miss my mom and my sister so much.

I got a couple of Christmas card orders to fill so figured I'd make one to use for the:

I used Santa Lula, paper-piecing her outfit with the same digi paper that I used for the background (freebie from Pixel Scrapper/Marisa Lerin).  Pink rick rack and sticker gems are from my stash.  Sentiment is from Jellypark.  Have a great day, everyone!  Peace.

Wicked Wednesday ATC: Mythical Creatures

Hi everyone.  Watched "Jack Frost" with my daughter last night - man, that movie still makes me cry every single time I watch it.  It's just such a beautiful movie, I love it.  I love this time of year, love the Christmas movies.  But I'm such a big sentimental cry-baby.  LOL  Bought our plane tickets for our trip home, too, Cass and I will be flying out on Christmas day and coming back on January 9.  I'm really looking forward to seeing my sister and my mom and my friends.... I miss them.

Today we have a new challenge for you at:

I used Grotesque Gargoyle from our sponsor, Delicious Doodles.  Head on over to see what the rest of the DT created and to play along with us.  Peace.

ADFD & TOF

Good morning!  Can I just tell you that I absolutely love "winter" in northern California?  I have to put quotes around the word winter because.... well, because I'm from Massachusetts.  Doesn't that say it all?  LOL  I really enjoy hearing everyone talk about how cold it is.  It's been like 60 degrees Fahrenheit.  I talk to my papa, and it's 23 degrees back East.  Cold weather or not, it's still almost Thanksgiving!  My daughter and I are spending today making pumpkin fudge and Christmas cards.  Hope you all have a fantastic day, too!

I have 2 cards to share today - my first is for the:

I used Ladybug & Me from A Day for Daisies, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  DP and ribbon are from SU!

Next is my card for:

I used the Skull & Rose image along with one of the Santa hats from The Octopode Factory.  I turned the roses into garland with holly berries.  hee hee  The sentiment is just hand-written. Peace.

Emerald Faeries & All That Scraps

Happy Monday!  Yesterday was just blissful - I literally spent the entire day in my craft room, and I cranked out the projects!  LOL  It was a productive day, to say the least!  Although my laundry room may disagree.  Oh well, sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girls' gotta do.  :)  So my first card today is for the:

and

I used Ashee from A & T Digital Designs, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  I added glitter and some ribbon tags.  This was a fun sketch!

My next project is a gift tag for the:

I used Elf Lucy, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and a little bit of glitter.  I just took a tag that I had saved from some piece of clothing and covered it in Christmas DP, then added some red rick rack and the to/from (stamps from JustWordz) circle on the back.  Peace.

Whimsie Doodles: Any Holiday

Hello all!  I cannot believe Thanksgiving is in 4 days!  We will be going to Jeremy's mom's house for dinner, spending Thanksgiving with them for the very first time ever!  It will be nice, though, as it's our first "real" holiday since moving here.  I am making pumpkin fudge and a vegetable side dish - not sure yet if it'll be broccoli casserole or something else.  Yesterday, I made a Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix and it came out delicious - if you want to try it, click here for the recipe.  Here's a pic taken from the website, and it really did come out looking just like this:

YUM!  It was not easy finding that Brach's Autumn Mix now that Halloween has come and gone, lemme tell you!  I ended up getting one of the last 3 bags that Walmart had (and I am not a Walmart fan, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do....).  Note: I did use Cinnamon Life cereal and it came out delicious.  I recommend sticking with that.
***********************************************
And since we're still talking about Halloween candy, let's stick with that theme for today.  ;)  My card today is for this month's:

I decided to do another Halloween card - I can never get enough of Halloween and I adore this witch image from Whimsie Doodles!  She's called Standing Lizzie Witch, I colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Have a happy Sunday, friends!  Peace.

Happy Veteran's Day - Delicious Doodles: Remembering

Today we celebrate Veteran's Day in the United States - a day to thank our veterans for all they have done and continue to do.  I have many veterans and active duty servicemen in my family and social circle, but I have never had to deal with the heartache of losing someone I love to a war.  I hope I never do.  Thank you, veterans.

And so today I bring you this card for the:

I used the Gravestones image and printed out the text in my word processing program.  I spritzed a piece of white cardstock with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and used that as my card base.  Tied a black ribbon around it and left it - didn't want to overload with embellies on this one.  I think it speaks for itself.  Peace.

Birdie Brown & Digi Stamp Boutique

Good morning,  happy Sunday!  :)  We had to turn our heat on this weekend, kinda funny saying that for the first time in November!  LOL  I am just playing in my craft room all weekend in between laundry and cooking.  You know what I miss?  Reading.  I think this week I'm going to take one day to just read - probably one of my Stephen King books.  I spend so much time on my crafts, which I truly enjoy, but sometimes I feel like I don't have any time to do anything else that I enjoy.  So if I have to schedule it in, I will!  :)

My first card today is for the:

I used one of this month's freebies, Just For You, paper-pieced and colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and markers.  I used little pearl stickers on the snowman and the man's jacket (buttons).  DP is from MME, ribbon tag from SU!  I love these bead letters, too, I've had fun with them but I'm running out!  I definitely need more.

Next up - for this month's challenge at:

I used one of the previous freebie images and created an ornament, it's got the same image on the other side.  I used some rub-on sentiments on ribbon wrapped around the bottom.  Background was created by painting a coaster white and then spritzing with Emerald and Gold Smooch Spritzes.  Peace.
